Hello folks! It’s been a while since I posted something here. Currently I’m fairly busy happily hopping from one side of the island (of Gozo) to the other shooting a short film. (Yes, that’s right, I’m trying my hand at moving pictures). This photo is a still from tonight while I was getting some footage for the said film. It was taken at about 3am from home. I wonder how many of you looked up and noticed the splendid view of the moon, Jupiter and the Pleiades lying fairly close to each other – quite a Christmas treat if you ask me! Anyway, if you didn’t, here’s your chance.
The picture was a bit tricky to get because the main two subjects (the stars and the moon) have very different brightness levels. So it was a fine balancing act, calling for some patience as I waited for the right amount of clouds to get a balanced exposure between the moon and the stars. The detail in the full resolution image is, quite frankly, staggering.
Right, so that’s my Christmas postcard for all you out there who follow this blog. Merry Christmas, folks! My very best wishes to all!
