The Sheldonian at night.

I know. As soon as you read the title of this post you probably thought “The Sheldonian… again?!” But bear with me a moment. I invite you to look again at the pictures of this place which I’ve posted in the past – and I am sure that the first thing you’ll notice is that no two photos quite ever look the same. And indeed, whilst the building is the same old one in each and every picture, the light plays its magical game in an infinite number of different ways. To me that is one of the most enticing aspects of photography. So anyway, on Thursday evening I attended a concert in the Sheldonian and (naturally) took my camera with me. As I went out, I looked back and my heart skipped a beat as a blue-tinged sky loomed above the warm glow of the Sheldonian theatre, still buzzing with life as a crowd of people slowly made its way out, no doubt discussing the concert they had just attended. And as the cool air carried the noise of the distant excited chattering, the shutter clicked. Happy weekend to all!
