Two things made stop and take this picture.  Well, actually three.  Firstly, the light was right, of course.  There was some lovely, late-afternoon directional sunlight illuminating the door which made it look more interesting than it usually does.  Secondly, I had actually noticed this door countless times before and always kept it at the back of my mind as something I wanted to photograph.  And finally, well &#8211; I simply love old-fashioned doors and doorknobs, you see.  Well, actually, anything that&#8217;s old, I find fascinating.  As simple and common a reason as that.  It was when I was tinkering in the digital darkroom that Graham Bell&#8217;s words came to mind.
