As part of the International Year of Astronomy, I was invited to give a talk on the legacy of Galileo Galilei, who is oftentimes referred to as the father of observational astronomy. The event was held at the Italian Cultural Institute.  A few photographs from the event (courtesy of the IYA committee) are found below.
